So, this is my fourth month subscribed to birchbox and what a great month it was! This month the box was is collaberation with boden, a U.K. Clothing company. I loved how bright and floral this design is, it reminds me of my mum, and my boyfriends mum because they both LOVE bright floral tops!
This month I got to choose between two products from manna kadar to be sent out in your box. You could have the high definition powder, which is what I have, or the contour and highlight duo. These are full size, but are still quite small for the price.
As I said, I received the high definition powder (£27) which is a transparent setting powder. I loved this as I get very oily!. I use this all over my face and my makeup lasted for hours longer than usual without breaking down or getting too oily. I use this instead of my current setting powder all the time now, it is definitely worth the money.
The next thing I received, which I was super excited about, was the nip+fab colour correcting concealer (£8.95) in green. This concealer neutralises redness on the face and blends out very easily. I have a lot of redness on my cheeks and red spot scars on my face so I was so thankful for getting this colour. The tube has a brush on the end of it, so when applying it to so the face it blends easily. This completely neautralises the redness on my cheeks and makes my skin look very even after applying foundation. I will probably repurchase this when I run out, and I'm looking at buying some of the other colours.
The third thing I tried was the polaar ice pure gentle scrub with arctic cotton (£23.50) which, I found out after a lot of serching (everything is written in French), is a face exfoliator. I took this away with me while I was at home in England, and after a mental breakdown mid makeup application, I used this to wash my face and it removed everything. I was so surprised that I got such a deep clean without using my braun facial brush. I also love the smell of this, it is very fresh and it smells like it would be good for your skin (not chemically). It leaves my skin very soft, and it didn't break me out. I also found that this is a really nice sample size, the bottle looks like it would last close to a month of daily use.
The fourth thing I got, which was actually the first thing I tried (in the car on the way to England about 2.5 seconds after opening the box), was the baïja Paris crème moana in fleur de tiarè (£15.90), which is a body cream. I love slathering this on after a shower, especially on my legs as they get very dry after shaving in the shower. This cream smells amazing to me, I don't know how to describe it, it's very unique and refreshing. The cream itself is very smooth and moisturising and keeps my skin hydrated all day. The sample size of this is also very nice, you don't need much as a little goes a long way, so the bottle should last a while.
The final thing in my birchbox was the parlor by Jeff Chastain volumizing lifting spray (£18.50). I don't style my hair or use heat on my hair much so this was a bit difficult for me to review, or get an idea of how good it works, but I tried this after I showered one day and did really like how it made my hair looks. You spray this onto your roots after washing your hair and blow dry your hair to add volume. I used this when I went out to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and my hair felt bouncy and soft and voluptuous throughout the day. I will definitely use this again for special occasions.
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog, and I hope you found some products you might enjoy trying, or are interested in trying out birchbox.
I'll be back shortly with another blog post, so I'll see you then!
