Laura page base coat review

When out shopping I love to pick up things to test and try, to see how well they work. Whilst out in town a month ago, I popped into my local pharmacy and picked up a base coat by Laura Paige. This wasn’t a brand I had heard of before so I was sceptical of how good it would be.

As I often do when I buy new things I did a quick Google of reviews of the company’s nail polish, and although there werent many, the few reviews I read were positive so that gave me some confidence in the product.

I have used this product as base coat for all of my manicures, (and for friends) since buying it so I now have a good opinion on how it works for me.

The packaging is plain and simple which initially made me worry that it was many not a quality brand, but I was quickly shown that I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover.

The formula is easy to work with and I found that it minimises staining. It has worked just as well as my usual base coat at preventing my nail varnish from chipping, plus the bottle size is bigger and the formula is more liquidy than other base coats I’ve worked with so a little goes a long way. When I first tried the base coat I thought this would be a downside as it wouldn’t protect my nails as well but it has surpassed my expectations by miles.

For my retail job I have to be aggressive with my hands, (for things like opening boxes quickly etc, not smacking customers) and I’m not allowed nail varnish, other than nude but sometimes id rather have bare nails, and I’ve found that this protects my nails from breakages and chipping, both of which I’ve suffered from a lot since getting the job.

I picked this up for £1.99 from my local pharmacy but I’m not sure where else sells it. Laura Paige does have a website that might be worth looking at if you’re interested.

This might be shocking but I prefer to use this base coat over some more well known brands basecoat, even including OPI’s nail envy. My nails haven’t looked this good or this long in a while!

I hope this review helped, and if you have or are going to try Laura Paige polishes please let me know how it goes!

Thank you for reading, until next time
